Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Information Technology, Power & Energy and Banking, Financials & Insurance sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.12%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were HVA Foods PLC (CM:HVAF), which rose 32.79% or 2.00 points to trade at 8.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) added 25.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.500 and Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) was up 18.18% or 0.200 points to 1.300 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND), which fell 20.21% or 7.80 points to trade at 30.80 at the close. Lanka Ashok Leyland PLC (CM:ASHO) declined 10.20% or 125.90 points to end at 1109.00 and Lankem Ceylon PLC (CM:LCEY) was down 8.25% or 4.90 points to 54.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 97 to 81 and 56 ended unchanged.
Shares in HVA Foods PLC (CM:HVAF) rose to 52-week highs; rising 32.79% or 2.00 to 8.10.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.25% or 0.62 to $50.20 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.00% or 0.56 to hit $56.35 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.65% or 8.41 to trade at $1293.41 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.51% to 202.360, while USD/LKR rose 0.07% to 153.440.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.37% at 93.20.
