Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Investment Trust, Motors and Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Agalawatte Plantations PLC (CM:AGAL), which rose 9.38% or 1.80 points to trade at 21.00 at the close. Meanwhile, F L C Hydro Power PLC (CM:HYDP) added 8.82% or 0.60 points to end at 7.40 and Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) was up 8.33% or 0.100 points to 1.300 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL), which fell 11.11% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.800 at the close. Property Development PLC (CM:PDL) declined 8.54% or 7.80 points to end at 83.50 and Agstar PLC (CM:AGST) was down 7.02% or 0.40 points to 5.30.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 79 to 76 and 59 ended unchanged.
Shares in Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) fell to 5-year lows; losing 11.11% or 0.100 to 0.800.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.06% or 0.55 to $51.27 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.04% or 0.55 to hit $52.12 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.05% or 0.65 to trade at $1270.55 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.05% to 180.950, while USD/LKR rose 0.04% to 147.195.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.10% at 97.97.
