Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Footwear & Textile, Investment Trust and Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.46%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Kahawatte Plantations PLC (CM:KAHA), which rose 11.69% or 3.60 points to trade at 34.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Malwatte Valley Plantations PLC (CM:MAL) added 7.41% or 0.200 points to end at 2.900 and Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) was up 6.67% or 0.100 points to 1.600 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL), which fell 11.11% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.800 at the close. Horana Plantations PLC (CM:HOPL) declined 9.74% or 1.90 points to end at 17.60 and Lighthouse Hotel PLC (CM:LHL) was down 8.62% or 5.00 points to 53.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 120 to 41 and 51 ended unchanged.
Shares in Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) fell to 5-year lows; falling 11.11% or 0.100 to 0.800.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.16% or 0.08 to $50.27 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $51.98 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.06% or 0.75 to trade at $1254.75 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.09% to 179.630, while USD/LKR rose 0.47% to 147.510.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.13% at 97.95.
