Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Textile, Other Electronic and Transport sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.14%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were ChipMOS Technologies (TW:8150), which rose 9.97% or 3.05 points to trade at 33.65 at the close. Meanwhile, Zig Sheng Industrial Co Ltd (TW:1455) added 9.78% or 1.10 points to end at 12.35 and Logah Technology Corp (TW:3593) was up 9.76% or 1.20 points to 13.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Optotech Corp (TW:2340), which fell 9.98% or 2.45 points to trade at 22.10 at the close. Global PMX Co Ltd (TW:4551) declined 7.16% or 14.50 points to end at 188.00 and Elite Material Co Ltd (TW:2383) was down 4.95% or 7.00 points to 134.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 411 to 330 and 130 ended unchanged.
Shares in Optotech Corp (TW:2340) fell to 5-year highs; down 9.98% or 2.45 to 22.10. Shares in Zig Sheng Industrial Co Ltd (TW:1455) rose to 52-week highs; up 9.78% or 1.10 to 12.35.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.30% or 0.15 to $50.64 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.16% or 0.09 to hit $56.91 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.21% or 2.69 to trade at $1270.51 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.15% to 30.392, while TWD/CNY fell 0.18% to 0.2183.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 93.91.
