Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Glass, Cement & Glass and Cement sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were 1St Copper Tec (TW:2009), which rose 10.00% or 1.10 points to trade at 12.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Twn Glass Ind (TW:1802) added 10.00% or 1.50 points to end at 16.50 and Bonny Worldwide Ltd (TW:8467) was up 9.99% or 3.85 points to 42.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Genius (TW:3406), which fell 5.70% or 12.00 points to trade at 198.50 at the close. Twn Pulp & Pap (TW:1902) declined 3.35% or 0.45 points to end at 13.00 and China Electric (TW:1611) was down 3.15% or 0.28 points to 8.60.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 463 to 302 and 116 ended unchanged.
Shares in 1St Copper Tec (TW:2009) rose to 3-years highs; up 10.00% or 1.10 to 12.10. Shares in Twn Glass Ind (TW:1802) rose to 52-week highs; rising 10.00% or 1.50 to 16.50.
Crude oil for April delivery was up 0.35% or 0.19 to $54.52 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.42% or 0.24 to hit $56.90 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.34% or 4.25 to trade at $1234.65 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.07% to 30.816, while TWD/CNY fell 0.09% to 0.2232.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 101.50.
