Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil, Gas & Electricity, Plastic and Trading & Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.76% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Leadtek (TW:2465), which rose 9.99% or 0.90 points to trade at 9.91 at the close. Meanwhile, Fu Hsing Indu (TW:9924) added 9.96% or 4.90 points to end at 54.10 and Tai-I (TW:1613) was up 9.88% or 0.33 points to 3.67 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Twinhead Intl (TW:2364), which fell 9.94% or 0.52 points to trade at 4.71 at the close. Asia Plastic (TW:1337) declined 6.12% or 1.35 points to end at 20.70 and Jye Tai Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:6165) was down 5.88% or 0.75 points to 12.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 438 to 403 and 1 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.46% or 0.21 to $45.59 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.83% or 0.40 to hit $48.48 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.40% or 4.70 to trade at $1170.80 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.90% to 32.362, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.1926.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 96.36.
