Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Glass and Oil, Gas & Electricity sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Sinkang Inds (TW:2032), which rose 9.97% or 0.97 points to trade at 10.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Taimide (TW:3645) added 9.89% or 3.15 points to end at 35.00 and Favite (TW:3535) was up 9.82% or 1.40 points to 15.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Epileds Tech (TW:4956), which fell 8.99% or 2.50 points to trade at 25.30 at the close. Long Bon (TW:2514) declined 6.49% or 1.10 points to end at 15.85 and Honmyue Enter (TW:1474) was down 4.44% or 0.55 points to 11.85.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 404 to 339 and 122 ended unchanged.
Shares in Taimide (TW:3645) rose to 52-week highs; rising 9.89% or 3.15 to 35.00. Shares in Long Bon (TW:2514) fell to 3-years lows; losing 6.49% or 1.10 to 15.85.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.08% or 0.54 to $49.42 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.89% or 0.45 to hit $50.34 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.18% or 2.25 to trade at $1275.85 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.12% to 31.571, while TWD/CNY fell 0.05% to 0.2147.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 98.57.
