Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Basic Metals and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 4.15% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Metro Holding (IS:METRO), which rose 10.59% or 0.090 points to trade at 0.940 at the close. Meanwhile, T. Halk Bankasi (IS:HALKB) added 10.09% or 0.96 points to end at 10.47 and Turkiye Vakiflar Bankasi TAO (IS:VAKBN) was up 7.49% or 0.320 points to 4.590 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Eczacibasi Yatirim (IS:ECZYT), which fell 1.84% or 0.17 points to trade at 9.09 at the close. Ege Endustri (IS:EGEEN) declined 1.12% or 3.00 points to end at 263.90 and Logo Yazilim (IS:LOGO) was down 0.97% or 0.500 points to 51.000.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 309 to 47 and 52 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was up 0.52% or 6.25 to $1202.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.32% or 0.69 to hit $52.94 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.56% or 0.86 to trade at $55.96 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 2.62% to 3.7634, while EUR/TRY fell 1.88% to 4.0137.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.67% at 101.02.
