Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Rubber and Plastic sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.78%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Microtek Intl (TW:2305), which rose 9.92% or 0.84 points to trade at 9.31 at the close. Meanwhile, Crowell (TW:2528) added 9.60% or 0.68 points to end at 7.76 and Jye Tai Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:6165) was up 7.84% or 0.80 points to 11.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were China Tv (TW:9928), which fell 10.00% or 0.65 points to trade at 5.85 at the close. Tainan Cayman (TW:5906) declined 7.80% or 0.17 points to end at 2.01 and Sunspring Meta (TW:2062) was down 6.79% or 2.95 points to 40.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 536 to 204 and 107 ended unchanged.
Shares in Microtek Intl (TW:2305) rose to 52-week highs; up 9.92% or 0.84 to 9.31. Shares in China Tv (TW:9928) fell to all time lows; losing 10.00% or 0.65 to 5.85.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 1.27% or 0.61 to $47.58 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.66% or 0.81 to hit $48.12 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 1.51% or 19.25 to trade at $1255.15 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.22% to 32.773, while TWD/CNY rose 0.10% to 0.1989.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.02% at 95.18.
