Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Optoelectronic, Hotels and Rubber sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Tai Tung (TW:8011), which rose 10.00% or 2.15 points to trade at 23.65 at the close. Meanwhile, Kyet (TW:5225) added 10.00% or 3.70 points to end at 40.70 and Genius (TW:3406) was up 9.98% or 5.70 points to 62.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Y.C.C. (TW:1339), which fell 9.92% or 5.25 points to trade at 47.65 at the close. Phytohealth (TW:4108) declined 5.37% or 1.60 points to end at 28.20 and Tong-Hwa Synth (TW:1418) was down 5.30% or 0.28 points to 5.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 457 to 380 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Y.C.C. (TW:1339) fell to 52-week lows; falling 9.92% or 5.25 to 47.65.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.81% or 0.81 to $45.55 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 1.39% or 0.67 to hit $48.35 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.47% or 5.20 to trade at $1108.50 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.26% to 32.897, while TWD/CNY fell 0.10% to 0.1944.
The US Dollar Index was unchanged 0.00% at 96.35.
